(note that there are 2 separate scenarios going on there now )You take a click sample and loop it on one of the tracks, then patch that track out to the Korg sync in.
#USB HOST TO MIDI CONVERTER PORTABLE#
the SQ1 will receive midi via usb.īut i really want a lightweight portable thing with multi-ins.

(note that there are 2 separate scenarios going on there now ) (will i really transfer indiv tracks to computer? probably not)īut i really want a lightweight portable thing with multi-ins. just found out the outputs can be used as direct outs instead of send/aux/main - which has possibilities. except it cost so little, i could keep it around for a bit and jazz it up with flash memory sit all patched into patchbay. The VSR880 i have at the moment does a separate sync track - will this correspond to frames per sec? have to rtfm more.īut i think that's going. Output 'sync' - does it output much via its trs midi? midi sync/clock? or just note on/off? It works, but you have to find "The Device (TM)", although I'm unsure if anyone still makes them.Įdit: Looks like a Korg SQ-1 can do this!you're going to have to explain that. People are solving this with sync tracks, especially on the Zooms. using two, connected by the 'host'/usb connector is intriguing, but i probably wouldn't get a 2nd one either, unless it was really brilliant. i don't even know if it sends MTC, or if the usb connection can be used in standalone mode. Hence: thinking about whether it's possible to derive a proper midi out from a usb port on one of these things. so i thought about a cheapie Zoom R16 as a nice portable device, but it doesn't have MIDI sync, and then: ? is that really so essential? (WHY don't they put a MIDI port on these things?) - i could overdub after, if i draft in a computer, couldn't i? but i won't fire up a computer, i know it already. but i'm also now unpacking files after transfer, and that's ok, but i'd like to move to direct-to-wav if possible, and recording to SD, not a compact flash still inside the unit. can i live with 8? yeah sure, it's better than what i'm doing now (not doing now). so mixing would require a mixer, which is ok if sending direct outs to it -only 8.

Thing is, it doesn't have fader controls, and it's all buried in menus. didn't realise you have to add FX with add-on card, unlike the VS console models, but it does have 2 analogue stereo FX us Aux and Main stereo.

what puts me off there is having to unpack individual tracks to wav after transfer to PC - will i do that, or just mixdown to stereo on the unit? -i paid so little for it, it's a gift i wanted something much like a tapedeck, with multi-ins, multitrack, MIDI, 24bit. and i even made myself a little RCA-Jack 8x loom.

need to look more at the Mode Machines thing, and the discontinued HobbyTronics looked good.īasically, if i can live with my VSR-880: not enthused enough to even switch it on, since fitting the IDE-CompactFlash setup - i should explore it a bit really. (wtf is Active Sensing all about my cheapo Evolution MK keyboard sensds it, continuous stream of junk data) I have one of the dirt cheap ones, that DOES NOT filter out Active Sensing. these are for getting midi i/o off a regular computer USB port. (there's some even cheaper than the E-mu, just google MIDI usb interface cable)this isn't it. What type of USB connector (A or B or C)?
